After a big day on location, completing the 27 stations of the green line Montreal, and visiting Parc Honoré Mercier, I had some palette cleaning to do! The disks are supposed to represent the stations although there are not 27 of them, and the rectangle things seem to be like the wooden garbage bins the city installs. Almost every paint is included here except for two of the yellows. Part of the reason I did the 27 green line stations series was to 'force' myself to learn all the new paints. When you are trying to copy reality, you need to mix the paints and apply them realistically. Funny enough one of the last paints, and the cheapest paint I bought (only $11 for 15mL from ShinHan PWC) turned out to be the most useful.. umber. It is the colour of mud, but mud happens to be prevalent in landscapes int he form of earth, concrete, rocks and tree bark. I like all the colours I got, so it will be great to find out more about which each one can do. In the absence of friends (due to COVID-19) the paints have become my friends. watercolour paper 9 x 12" August 2020
