June is here, rain rain go away !

Now that June is here its time for the rain to go away and let us play! Unfortunately yesterday poured all day and today was pretty soggy but I got out for a good ride to Anatol spices which turned out to be closed for their summer holiday. At least I got a few paintings done. This one grabbed my attention because the pinkish lilac shrubbery seemed to flow into the purple graffiti on the foreground building. In the background you see the edge of the old warehouse, and some stairs leading up to the bike path. The road here is st Urbain in the foreground. I made the dark purple with quin magenta (PR122) and dark blue (PB60). The shrub was done with a wash of the PR122 paint, making it cool and clear in places, letting it dry, then using side-brush to dab on the texture.

Here is the loading dock in the back of the Canadian Tire. I liked the raw-sienna brick work and colours on the door. The truck was parked on an add angle, and there were dramatic cracks in the asphalt. I would have made more paintings, the steel sculptures are pretty cool up by the train tracks, but the weather was cold, wet and windy so I packed it in for the day.
