Dorchester Square umbrellas

At the center of Dorchester Square in downtown Montreal they have dozens of sets of patio furniture with umbrellas for sun. The furniture is ornate and pale green, while the umbrellas are a half dome and cream coloured. Behind the furniture there are red flowers with dark green foliage, and the Dorchester statue off to the left. The red flowers and foliage had to be painted around the shapes of the furniture which took some careful brush work, challenging with the strong gusting wind on location.

Here is the first attempt, I was just trying to gauge the colours and composition, in the final painting I cropped the bottom part of the scene and zoomed in.
