Scenes in and around Harley street

Here is a painting of the pleather chair which is looking a lot worse for wear with its covering peeling off. In the background is the rear of Reno depot, with the newly-planted trees in the middle ground. The trees represent something important, that is, the community, and a person named Cynthia who I talked to last week, fought to have this field protected against development. The trees were planted as part of a Loyola High school initiative with students which was part of the deal. I embellished the trees a little, its what they will look like next year I suppose.

The good old Raffi auto is always good for a painting, in this case its a side view where you see the signage and a few parked cars. It was closed for business today, so no action going on. In the foreground is a bit of the field and the sidewalk, in fact, that is almost exactly the position on the sidewalk where the toilette was sitting when I painted it earlier this year.

The giant condo complex on st Jacques is nearing completion. I have painted it at several stages including when it was just a hole, then with the green membrane cover, and now with the orange-yellow insulation and scaffolding with workers on it. The other side is being bricked now, they chose a raw sienna brick that seems quite nice.
