Class ended a little early today, so I got out for a brief painting around 6pm just when the sun was about to go down. The building you see is on Walkely street, the red white and green sign is the famous gas station/auto mechanic across the street. They are famous now! The main thing was to catch the little drip of sunlight on top of the apartment which was fading fast. Bitterly cold wind punished my hands, it is finally time to get the gloves out! I really like the character in this painting, it captures the moment perfectly.
NDG, Somerled, last light, 4 x 6" watercolour, hot press, October 2020
