Over the years I have given my parents many paintings, they put them in frames or got custom framing and hang them around the house. Most of them are done from photographs as source material such as this one, which is a wind-swept pine tree on one of the many rural roads north of Bolton. I was there a few years ago and saw the tree but it looked in bad shape. This photo was probably from about 1993 and the painting was done afterwards while I was living in London Ontario.

Next is an excerpt from a photo I took while skiing with Dad on the red trail. This is where the trail turns right and looks out over the valley surrounding Albion Hills. Dad is posing for the picture, looking out into the distance. His skis and boots were buried in snow. I did more paintings from around this area, shown in a blog on Bolton, and some other painting in my collection.

This one was done from a photo from a canoe trip my parents took on the French River. The canoe is probably the same one seen under the deck of the backyard of their house. I did quite a few of the camping-themed paintings and hopefully I can do even more when the things get back to normal next summer.

And finally, a drawing I made after a camping trip where we were disappointed to have seen very few animals on a hiking trip. So the joke was that all the animals would just hide until we passed by. The caption says 'Why mom never sees any animals at Algonquin park.'
Pencil crayon, 1990
