Wake Up Alarms

It is half way through our reading week, otherwise known as March break, so I turned off my cell phone alarms for most of the mornings. This painting shows the annoying alarms marching across the landscape, waking me up from slumber. To create a sense of agitation I used a lot of red and green with textured brush strokes. I finally started 'Saturation Costs' this week and hope to finish before work starts to get hectic again, it is a 22x30" doodle style painting that has been in the planning since last year. Because it is based on the pandemic, it has been a difficult painting to do, the sketches for it were done in March of 2020 when the whole stay at home order began. It would be nice to see our way out of the problems, and be able to visit our families again!
