World Inspired Landscapes: North Korea
As the series reached North Korea I was not entirely sure that it was its own country technically speaking, since there used to be a Korea, then a North and South Korea following the Korean war which never actually ended. Turns out that North Korea is accepted as an independent country by all sources I could find on the internet. The Magnolia flower is the national flower, its a small cream coloured six pointed flower on a tree or shrub with a circular red interior. To maintain the colour, contrast and shape of the flowers, I did a faint outline in paint then filled in the leaves and sky around them, followed by a suggestion of a rugged landscape at the bottom of the composition. There was not a whole lot to go by, and perhaps looking up at the flowers is a good representation of the landscape.
