This was the second palette cleanser after the Eastern Townships trip, obviously I was cleaning the warm parts of the palette including yellow, orange, red, and earth colours. Earlier in the day I was out in the garden and a few wet geranium petals fell on my leg and stuck there, then I grabbed a cactus to move it, and looked down and thought I had pricked myself and was bleeding! But it was just geranium petals. So that episode gave me the idea to make the flower petals look like drops of blood. 9 x 12" watercolour paper, watercolour, 2020
