I may as well keep going, there are a few more Vincent Studies to blog about. When I completed these studies I didn't care for them, the best 4 in my opinion were already posted. However, when I rediscovered them in the box this week I saw the paintings with a new appreciation. This one has a Vincent-style sun setting in a fauvist landscape. Fauvism is the use of jarring contrasts like red and green, to create visual energy. The object overlay, which touches the sun, is undeniably 'Darlington' style! 6 x 8" hot press, watercolour, 2018
