Vincent Study 9

This Vincent Study was perhaps the first one I did in the series, it was meant to be an imaginary version of his earlier Dutch works, infused the warm glow of his later French works from the south. There is even a windmill on the horizon! A more literal interpretation than the other ones, the painting captures several other motifs like the peasants, the rough terrain, and a glowing hayfield. The way I numbered the Vincent studies was arbitrary, I just wanted to give them unique titles to organize the scans, blogs and eventual catalogue I would like to do. 6 x 8" hot press, watercolour, 2018

Perhaps a little more entertaining is an abstract painting I did on the B side, I give you, 'Necking Appliances' :
