Pixel Art Invasion

On April 1st, the social media site website launched another episode of r/place. For those not in the know, the r/ refers to the reddit page, of which there are millions out there, each with its own niche. The event was kind of simple, once logged on, you can click a single pixel on a large blank canvas, turning the pixel to a colour of your choice. Every few minutes you could change a pixel. Since millions of people were participating, they would group together and put together pixels to make a flag, or a symbol, or a picture. Other groups would try and take over the pixels or mess up the design. Canada made a flag but couldn't quite get the leaf shape right. Quebec made a provincial flag with the habs symbol and the bonhomme de neige. While I didn't log on yet or change a pixel, it did inspire me to make this painting, which shows and invasion of pixels into my abstract painting.
