Habs condos trees, watercolour 6 x 7.5" cold press, September 2025
Here is a close up view, looking directly up at the towers from within the area of the Bell Centre Arena. Its meant to be more accurate, I checked the angles, matched the colours and values, and narrowly avoided rain. On top of the lower building, across the front, there was a small shrub which gave some natural element in among the glass towers.Habs looking up, watercolour 6 x 7.5" cold press, September 2025
Ken Dryden, the famous goalie of the Habs died this week, and so I went by his number plaque and saw a few bouquets of flowers placed there by fans. Out on Avenue-des-Candiens-de-Montréal there are walls of gleaming glass sky-scrapers with the old Windsor station made of sand-stones on the left. I tried to get the correct number of floors on the sky-scrapers... which was about 40 and I came up a little short but its a small piece of paper. The one on the right is actually built on a protruding angle which makes it even more fun to paint! I think the painting conveys the magnitude of the scene quite well. With an 8 x 10 I could probably get all 40 stories.Walls of glass, watercolour 6 x 7.5" cold press, September 2025
