Ca Lem Van at Night

A few years ago I painted a scene of the Volkswagen Van at the Ca Lem ice cream store in the summer. This painting was done early in December of last year but for some reason I didn't make a blog about it, or couldn't find the blog if I did. As I go through the 2022 pile to complete the catalogue update there are a few that didn't make the blog for some reason. The pink van was illuminated with amber lights from above, which created interesting and complex shades of coral and peach. There was a lot going on in this painting, including an apartment in the background, string-lights over top, and unseen white light sources from the left. Although numbered 3296, this is the 3822^nd painting on my catalogue. I often paint on the backs of paintings so when the number ends in 'a' that is the front side, 'b' is the back side. It mostly helps me find paintings when needed since they are mostly in cartons now!
