Sports Dome Grey Day

On my way from my office to the laboratory I stopped to make a quick painting before crossing Sherbrooke street. The sports dome is looming in the background, with an interesting tree in front of it. Parked cars sit on the street. The black rectangle on the right of the painting is the edge of the PERFORM centre where we do some of the research. To begin, I established the grey sky which is actually full of colours, albeit greyed versions. Then I worked on the blueish shadow of the some and cars in front. Luckily it dried enough to overlay the tree and add some contrast elements. It was tricky wearing the moose mitts and only using one brush. There have been quite a few adjustments to make to go from summer/fall painting to winter painting.
