A Ways to See

There are so many kinds of perspective to consider as an artist- one point, two point, three point, curve-linear, and more! When painting on location there are infinite perspectives depending on where you look. If you look down the perspective is different than if you are looking straight ahead, or looking off into the distance like down a street. A few times I got caught unaware and painted multiple perspectives in one painting. For example, in a painting of lilacs beside the sidewalk, the fence has a downwards perspective because I was looking at the flowers, while the street in the upper right has an upwards perspective since I was peering down the street. In this abstract painting, besides cleaning the palette, I was trying to include as many perspectives as possible into one painting. At the bottom is a room looking from eye level, while the top contains one point, two point and curve-linear. I kind of like the colour scheme on the top part, primary yellow, red and blue with a mix of earth greens and oranges.
