Going on trips is a great way to make location paintings in the outdoors (en plein air), and it gives you ideas for other paintings. In Bromont we were unable to find a good place to sit, so I did this from memory, impressions, of the location. We walked up a hiking path on the mountain that was criss-crossed with bike paths and mountain bikers. Strangely enough, they had built a small suburb of cottage houses in the woods, which are depicted in pink at the bottom. As usual with the palette cleansers, I cleaned the colours in order, in this case going from yellow to magenta (top to bottom). The golden straw colours are yellow underneath with raw sienna (PBr7) and goethite (PY43) layered over. 9 x 12" watercolour paper, watercolour, 2020
