Purple Bouquet, and receipt for lessons

Here is one of the first few paintings I made when I was taking the watercolour classes. It is interesting to compare this to the one I just made today of the hibiscus, there is 30 years separating the two works. Maybe I will get back into flower paintings, it would be a good thing to do in the winter except that fresh flowers are generally unavailable then. Purple Bouquet, 9 x 12" watercolour paper, 1989 (No. 0057)

I kept the receipt for the lessons which my Mom generously paid for, it was $35 for like, 6 weeks? The artist teacher was Sonya Vernot. We did a lot of floral still life, and some vegetable still life. The only thing I remember from the class was asking her if I should add water to the paints. Once I got started with the watercolours I never stopped.
