Blue Suede Shoe Polish

It's the last one I did on that hot day in July. To create blue suede shoe polish I used up the last of the Sennelier phthalo blue (PB15), and mixed it with a great glob of iridescent moonstone (PW6+Mica). The whole painting kind of shimmers like velvet hence the name. It was a lot of fun to paint in circles with the sparkly blue paint with a brush, kind of reminded me of finger painting when I was kid. A lady drove me and some other kids to a gymnasium and inside they had tables set up with different art stations. The finger painting really stuck in my mind, I can still remember the colours I added to the paper and how it felt, I must have been only 5 or 6 years old. 22 x30" cold press, watercolour July 2020  B Side the End of Colour

It was deliberate I chose The End of Colour, a painting I did back when cash flow was a little tight and I had run out of paint. These endless colour paintings were quite a splurge although the paints were all expired anyways.
