Old House with Red Roof, Lachine

This painting could have been done this weekend but it is actually an old painting I made shortly after moving to Montreal. My bike malfunctioned today so I had to limit my riding after doing a few metro stations, time for a new bike! This is a famous old house in Lachine along the bike path, it seemed to be a private dwelling. It's quite a nice painting, full of light, colour, and texture. I was using bright green for the shadows, which created a colour contrast for the red roof. It looks like the old stone house in Verdun, I guess they had similar building tastes back then. Maybe I'll go back there when I get my bike sorted out and see if its changed. 6 x 9" cold press, watercolour, 2005?
