This painting really makes me laugh. It is actually a B side, that is, I painted on the back of something else that I probably wasn't happy about. I was trying to emulate the colours of van Gogh while also capturing the spirit of his paintings, along with my own interpretation. When he painted flowers, they seemed to have a character, a life of their own. I ran with that idea!

Here is what was on the front side, a more serious attempt at capturing the Van Gogh style of flowers. If 100 people saw these paintings it would be interesting to see what style they preferred! I did not quite understand tonal colours at this point, now I can see the struggle to get the subtle colours of the Dutch master.
